Kyrgyzstan has introduced a temporary ban on the export of scrap and ferrous metal waste, ferrous metal ingots for remelting from the Kyrgyz Republic.
The press service of the State Agency for State Property Management said that in connection with this, in order to effectively sell scrap and waste of non-ferrous and ferrous metals by state institutions, the Metalprom branch was created in July 2022 under the state enterprise “Directorate for Facilities Management” .

According to paragraph 41 of the regulation on the procedure for writing off fixed assets on the balance sheet of state-owned enterprises of the Kyrgyz Republic, components, parts, materials and assemblies containing precious materials and stones, as well as non-ferrous and ferrous metals seized after dismantling and disassembling the property were subject to sale to the relevant organizations that have licenses for this type of activity. For the purpose of write-off, a commission was constantly created and an assessment of the property being written off was carried out, which required additional costs from the budget.
