Kyrgyzstan’s GDP reaches 781.1 billion soms since start of 2026

According to preliminary estimates, the volume of gross domestic product amounted to 781,061.4 billion soms in January—May 2026, the National Statistical Committee reported.

Compared to January—May 2025, the indicator increased by 12.2 percent.

GDP growth slightly slowed over the month, reaching 12.4 percent as of April 2026.

The services sector accounted for more than 51.1 percent of total GDP, commodity production industries for 32.6 percent, and net taxes on products for 16.3 percent.

Leading drivers of industrial growth

The main industries contributing to a 14.4 percent increase in industrial output compared to January—May 2025 were:

  • chemical production — threefold increase;
  • pharmaceutical production — 1.8 times increase;
  • production of wood, paper products and publishing activities — 1.7 times increase;
  • production of transport vehicles— 1.6 times increase.
  • The top three remained unchanged over the month. Total industrial output for the five-month period amounted to 374,656.1 billion soms.

Price developments

Consumer prices and tariffs rose by 4.8 percent in January—May compared to December 2025. In annual terms, inflation reached 11 percent and continues to accelerate.

Since the beginning of 2026, price increases have been recorded across all major categories. In particular:

  • services for the population rose by 7.1 percent;
  • alcoholic beverages and tobacco products by 6.5 percent;
  • food and non-alcoholic beverages by 4.8 percent;
  • non-food goods by 2.8 percent.
