In March, Ukrainians purchased 28.55 kg of gold for physical delivery (equivalent to USD 4.5 million), which is 50.7% more than in February.
This is according to data from the National Bank of Ukraine, as the Ukrainian News agency reported.
It is noted that in March, the population purchased 918 troy ounces of gold (equivalent to USD 4.496 million).
The public also purchased 1,599 troy ounces of silver (equivalent to USD 126,000).
It is worth noting that in March, banks purchased 763 troy ounces of gold from the public (equivalent to USD 3.687 million).
In January, banks sold 849 troy ounces to the public (equivalent to USD 3.976 million), and in February, 609 troy ounces for USD 3.061 million.
The weight of one troy ounce (troy oz) is 31.1034768 grams.
In 2025, the public purchased over 463 kg of gold (14,890 troy ounces).
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, banks increased cash currency imports by 13% to USD 914 million in February.
