President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has received today Governor of the National Bank Timur Suleimenov, Kazinform News Agency learned from the Akorda press service.
The Head of State was informed about the results of implementation of monetary policy by the National Bank in H1 2024.
Timur Suleimenov informed the President of development of the domestic and global economic situation, dynamics of inflation and the measures of its stabilization.
The Governor of the National Bank reported on the slowdown in annual inflation and persistence of pro-inflationary factors within the economy. He also reported on the state of the Unified Accumulative Pension Fund assets as well as gold and foreign currency reserves.
The President was also informed about the course of fulfilment of his instructions on implementation of the projects aimed at development of the national payment system and open banking principles, as well as creation of Anti-Fraud Center.
Upon completion of the meeting, the President set a number of tasks to the National Bank including on further stabilization of inflation and building digital financial infrastructure.
