As a result of the 9th State Great Khural Election on June 28, 2024, Members of the expanded Parliament, the first 126-member parliament in Mongolia’s history, have been elected.

Specifically, 78 members of the State Great Khural (Parliament) were elected through a majoritarian system, and 48 members were elected through proportional representation. In this election, 1,341 candidates competed from 19 parties, two coalitions, and as independents. Last night, the Mongolian People’s Party (MPP), Democratic Party (DP), and National Coalition expressed their positions based on the election results.
As of now, the General Election Commission of Mongolia has not yet announced the preliminary election results officially to the public. The counting of votes from Mongolian citizens abroad has been completed, and manual counting is underway. One notable feature of this election is the 100 percent verification of machine-generated results through manual counting.
