Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic Daniyar Amangeldiev, together with representatives of the network Asia Retail CJSC and Umay Group OJSC, discussed with representatives of the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) the project for the construction of an agro-industrial complex in the Chui region.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic, the project is financed by KOICA grant funds and is aimed at increasing the income of farmers with increased access to the market through strengthening the value chain of agricultural products.
During the meeting, the head of the department noted the particular importance of the project for the Kyrgyz side in order to support local farmers, improve the quality of products provided to consumers, as well as to establish an uninterrupted supply of products by organizing a trade and logistics center.
“It is planned that products will be stored, sorted and processed at the center,” he said.
In addition, this center will play a significant role in the development of the country’s export potential, and in this regard, Amangeldiev announced plans to scale the project, if it is successfully implemented.
The Korean side, in turn, expressed its readiness for close cooperation and noted that the project will be aimed primarily at supporting local producers, expanding their capabilities, including by increasing their potential.
Retail companies were also informed about the demand for trade and logistics centers, where goods will be sorted and packaged.
