The government has announced the withdrawal of the Prottoy pension scheme for university teachers and their employees.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina approved the summary of the withdrawal.
The information was confirmed in a notification issued by the Ministry of Education on Saturday.
Since July 1, teachers from 39 public universities have been on strike, halting classes and exams in response to the federation’s call for action.
Earlier, despite a 15-day sit-in, the teachers’ demands were not met.
The situation escalated with the quota reform movement on July 15, leading to university closures and a temporary pause in the teachers’ on-ground activities.
