Construction work of Thermal Power Plant V project reaches 35% completion

The Thermal Power Plant V project has achieved 44% overall completion, with construction work currently 35% complete.

Foundation work for the boilers, turbines, chimneys, and other main structures has been completed, while work on the foundations of administrative and auxiliary buildings is ongoing.

“Construction is progressing according to the approved schedule, and we plan to complete the foundation work for the main structures this year,” said G.Ulziibaatar, the project’s chief engineer.

More than 420 workers and technical personnel, supported by approximately 70 pieces of machinery, are currently working at the construction site.

Once commissioned in 2028, the plant will have an installed electricity generation capacity of 300 MW, of which 270 MW will be supplied to the unified energy grid.

The project is also strategically important for strengthening heat supply in the western part of the capital and improving the reliability of heating services for households and businesses in Bayangol and Songinokhairkhan districts.
