On April 28, the second meeting of the Joint Committee on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was held in the city of Baku, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA.
The meeting was co-chaired by Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Yalchin Rafiyev and Minister of State of the UAE Saeed Al Hajeri.
Within the framework of the committee’s work, a one-on-one meeting was held between Deputy Minister Y. Rafiyev and Minister of State S. Al Hajeri. This was followed by an expanded session chaired by the co-chairs, with the participation of ambassadors of both countries and representatives of relevant state institutions. Based on the reports presented by the subcommittees, the development of cooperation across various fields was discussed.
During the meeting, the work carried out since the first session of the committee, held in Abu Dhabi in November of last year, was reviewed, the results achieved were assessed, and views were exchanged on priority areas for the upcoming period, as well as on specific initiatives and joint projects.
The co-chairs positively evaluated the implementation process of the roadmap and action plans agreed upon during the committee’s first meeting and emphasized the importance of further deepening result-oriented cooperation. In addition, agreement was reached on putting forward new initiatives for the upcoming period, further improving existing mechanisms, and strengthening the institutional foundations of cooperation.
In addition to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministries of Economy, Energy, Justice, Defense, Internal Affairs, Digital Development and Transport, Science and Education, Culture, and Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as the State Tourism Agency, the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency, SOCAR, the Azerbaijan Investment Holding, and AZCON Holding.
