Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Serdar Muhammetdurdyev met with newly appointed Ambassador of Egypt to Turkmenistan Hamdy Shaaban Abdelhalim Mohamed (with residence in Moscow) on April 28. The Ambassador presented copies of his credentials, the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan reported.
Congratulating the diplomat on his appointment to this position, the Turkmen side expressed readiness to provide the necessary assistance in the implementation of his diplomatic mission.
The Ambassador promised to make every effort to further develop Turkmen-Egyptian cooperation and to promote stronger dialogue between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for developing bilateral cooperation in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
The meeting also included discussions on the possibility of expanding the legal base between the two countries. An exchange of views on issues of mutual interest on the international and regional agenda also took place.
The sides agreed to continue holding political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries, meetings of the Turkmen-Egyptian intergovernmental commission on economic, scientific and technical cooperation, holding Culture Days of the two countries in Ashgabat and Cairo, and strengthening cooperation in the fields of medicine, education and tourism.
