Implementation of TVET project within framework of Mongolian-German partnership discussed

The regular meeting of the Steering Committee of the project “Partnership-Based Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) II”, which supports reforms in Mongolia’s technical and vocational education and training sector, was held on February 26, Montsame reported.

During the meeting, participants reviewed the project’s 2025 implementation results and discussed the action plan for the first half of 2026.

The project is being implemented until June 2026 by the Ministry of Education in cooperation with the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), with grant funding from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Head of the Steering Committee and State Secretary of the Ministry of Education Batjargal Khandjav instructed to include specific measures to support reforms of vocational education financing and variable cost structures in the action plan for the first half of 2026, and develop cooperation with relevant stakeholders.

He also commended the establishment of a dual training support unit under the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and highlighted the importance of increasing enterprise participation and strengthening cooperation between training institutions and employers.
