Kazakhstan-Kyrgyzstan trade turnover reaches $1.7bn

Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov of Kazakhstan held talks on Monday with Adylbek Kasymaliev, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers – Head of the Presidential Administration of Kyrgyzstan, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports.

It’s encouraging that last year’s mutual trade posted a strong growth, amounting 1.7 billion US dollars. There is significant potential for further expansion of trade and economic interaction, said Bektenov.

Bektenov also pointed out sustainable development of cultural and humanitarian ties between the two countries.

A number of measures that considerably contributed to the strengthening of interaction between the countries’ youth and intelligentsias. It’s worth noting the significant contribution of the platforms such as the Intergovernmental Council and the Interregional Cooperation Forum to further developing bilateral ties, said the Kazakh Premier, reiterating the Kazakh government’s readiness to maintain the high dynamics of strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
