Representatives of pharmaceutical companies from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan discussed expanding mutual trade, entering Uzbek products into the Tajikistan market, technology transfer, and the possibility of creating joint production facilities.
The meetings took place as part of the Uzbek-Tajik business forum in the pharmaceutical sector in Tashkent. This was reported by the Agency for Development of Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry of Uzbekistan.
During B2B meetings, representatives of pharmaceutical enterprises from both countries reviewed specific proposals for expanding cooperation, including supplying products to the Tajik market, developing mutual trade, technology transfer, and implementing joint production projects.
The forum also discussed prospects for localizing the production of medicines and medical equipment, as well as increasing the volume of exports of pharmaceutical products.
The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of Tajikistan, the State Supervision Service, its territorial office for Sogdiana Region, the State Unitary Enterprise “Expertise and Testing of Pharmaceutical and Medical Products,” as well as representatives of the pharmaceutical industry of both countries.
Abdullah Azizov, Director of the Agency for Development of Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry of Uzbekistan, held a meeting with the Tajik delegation headed by Salomudin Yusufov, First Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population of Tajikistan.
Participants discussed the current state of the pharmaceutical industry in both countries, existing opportunities, and promising areas of cooperation.
During the visit, the Tajikistan delegation became acquainted with the activities of the pharmaceutical cluster BioPharma City, its production facilities, infrastructure, and opportunities for localizing product manufacturing. Representatives of Tajikistan also visited the logistics center Grand Pharm Logistics, where they were shown the processes of receiving, storing, sorting, and delivering pharmaceutical products.
An exhibition of medicines and medical equipment produced in Uzbekistan was organized for forum participants.
Following the event, the parties agreed to continue developing cooperation between pharmaceutical companies of both countries and to implement promising projects in the industry.
