Azerbaijan to chair Intra-European Organization of Tax Administrations

An administrative session was held within the framework of the 28th General Assembly of the Intra-European Organization of Tax Administrations (IOTA) in Budapest, the capital of Hungary, State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan told APA-Economics.

According to the information, the delegation led by the head of the State Tax Service Orkhan Nazarli, participated in the event.

At the administrative session of the General Assembly, the the President of IOTA, Chairman of the National Tax and Customs Administration (NTCA) of Hungary, Ferenc Vágujhelyi delivered speech.

Ferenc Vágujhelyi, who briefed about his presidency for 2023-2024, spoke about the work done and the results achieved within this time frame. Then the documents covering IOTA’s current and mid-term perspective were approved by voting.

At the administrative session of the General Assembly, Orkhan Nazarli, the head of the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was elected as the president of IOTA for 2024-2025. Members for the IOTA Executive Council for 2024-2025 were also elected within the session. Belgium, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Romania, Switzerland and Sweden will be represented in the Executive Council. Azerbaijan STS, which carries out the presidency of the organization, will chair the Executive Council.

Following, the flag of the organization, which is considered a symbol of the IOTA presidency, was presented to Orkhan Nazarli, the head of the State Tax Service of Azerbaijan, by the Chairman of the National Tax and Customs Administration (NTCA) of Hungary, Ferenc Vágujhelyi.
